Tiga Alasan Perlunya Perjalanan Insentif di Masa Pandemi

Tuesday, 28 September 21 Venue

2. Ajang studi banding

Ibarat pepatah, Sambil Menyelam Minum Air, begitupula perjalanan insentif.

Three Reasons to Keep Incentive Trips during the Pandemic

Due to health concerns and tight budgets, many companies are postponing travel incentives during this pandemic. However, it is important to remember the importance of travel incentives for the sustainability of companies.

We all certainly believe that employees and customers are valuable assets to a company. Both are the forces that keep a company’s wheels running. As assets, employees and customers certainly need to be protected. Not only is this done by properly providing material rights, but also by paying attention to their mental and physical health.

The question is, in the midst of a pandemic, do companies still have an interest in providing travel incentives? Evi Jo, Vice President of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, commonly known as BCA, firmly stated during a podcast talk on the MICE Indonesia YouTube channel that his company still has an interest in conducting travel incentives.

He states that, “From experience, we have benefited a lot from travel incentives. Aside from providing them as rewards, we also often conduct benchmarking tours for innovation, appreciation for selected customers, and supporting tourism by conducting CSR for target villages.”

There are at least three main benefits of travel incentives, whether that be for employees, clients, or customers.

1. A form of appreciation

As stated above, it is hard to put a price on the hard work of employees and the loyalty of consumers. Therefore, travel incentives are a display of appreciation for the contribution from employees and consumers. These gestures of appreciation will also foster further employee and consumer loyalty to the company.

2. An opportunity for comparative studies

Incentive trips can also be used to kill two birds with one stone. Aside from being a means of refreshing, they can also be an opportunity for comparative studies or networking.

3. A recharge

The routine of work coupled with the new challenges that have risen due to working from home during the pandemic are definitely exhausting. This is why travel incentives can provide a moment to refresh tired minds, enjoy the company of colleagues without pressure, and even familiarization between upper management and the employees they manage.

Travel incentives are therefore able to serve as a recharger to bring back excitement, motivation, and restore one’s passion for work.
